Award-winning vocalist Shekhinah is looking forward to sizzling on stage as the opening act for global star John Legend.

John’s Darkness and Light Tour kicks off this weekend at the Ticketpro Dome, Joburg, before moving to Durban on 7 November.

The former Idols SA contestant made a name for herself following successful collaborations with Sketchy Bongo and Black Coffee.

Last year her biggest hit, Back to the Beach, with Kyle Deutsch won best pop and best alternative song at the MTV Base Awards, best hit single at the Metro FM Music Awards and best collaboration at the South African Music Awards.

Cape Town music fans will get a chance to see these two singers from 9 to 11 November at the Grand Arena at GrandWest Casino.

It was followed by another successful single, Let You Know, with Sketchy Bongo.

Shekhinah made the world fall in love with her when she collaborated with dance music superstar Black Coffee.

Your Eyes became a smash hit and was rated as Black Coffee’s sixth best song by Billboard.

Her current single, Suited, has already reached 1 million views on YouTube and it’s one of the most played local songs on Mzansi radio stations.

Shekhinah’s debut album, Rose Gold, was released last month.
