WILD CHASE ENDS UP IN DEVASTATING CAR CRASH

A wild chase ensured in Westdene, a suburb of Bloemfontein, on Sunday morning. Free State police spokesman Masilela Langa said the police became suspicious when the two men drove off.

Two men were arguing on the side of the road.

When a passing police vehicle stopped behind their stationary blue Uno car, the two men jumped into their car and speed off!

“They immediately gave chase. The Uno driver, who was driving towards oncoming traffic, eventually collided with a Toyota Yaris,” said Langa.

Elizabeth Makwe (35) said she was on her way to work when she saw the speeding car travelling against the direction of traffic.

“I felt as if I was actually watching a movie.

“The Uno collided head-on with an oncoming car and rolled until it hit the wall. I didn’t think they were going to come out alive!”Elizabeth thanked God she was alive.

“The vehicle came straight for me. I moved back and I ran for my life. Luckily, the police were right behind them.”

When Daily Sun arrived at the scene, paramedics were trying to rescue the Uno passenger who was trapped in the wreckage.

“A case of reckless driving has been opened against the driver.

“Both men were rushed to hospital. Police have arrested the 18-year-old driver of the Uno,” said Langa.
