The Gauteng Department of Basic Education will soon be opening online applications for the 2022 school year.

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi said the department will be opening applications for learners in grade 1 and grade 8 separately. Online applications for admission to Gauteng schools in 2022 are expected to open from Tuesday.

The process will be conducted in two phases and completed in November. Gauteng Education Department spokesperson Steve Mabona says this is to improve capacity.
